He was a 1947 graduate of Lynnville High School before joining the United States Air Force in 1948 and being honorably discharged in 1952. He was a Korean War Veteran. After his military service, Davey worked as a computer programmer until he retired from Potter Brumfield/Siemens. He was a member of the Oakland City Masonic Lodge #467, VFW Post #1147 in Princeton, American Legion Post #351 in Elberfeld, and the Eagles Aerie #4288 in Oakland City.
Davey was an avid golfer and fisherman. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Chicago Cubs 2016 World Series win and Indianapolis Colts Football. He was a card player and enjoyed the throws of playing high stakes poker, enjoyed watching the hummingbirds, and even engaged in a daily "nip" of whiskey.
Davey was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Delores Arendell; and wife Betty (Corn) Arendell.
Davey is survived by his children, Eddie (Dara) Arendell, Jane Scales (Kenny), and Scott Arendell (Shannon); brother, Don Arendell (Shirley); sister, Sue Bottoms (Don); grandchildren, Tommy Arendell, Dusty Davis (Carla), Devin Davis (Paige), Kelsie Snyder (Kent), and Ally Green (Tyler); and 18 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, October 21, 2022 with Pastor Gene Burkhart officiating. A Masonic Service will be held just prior to the funeral service. The Retired Veterans of Gibson County will perform military honors. Friends may visit from 10:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M., Friday, October 21, 2022. Burial will be at Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City, Indiana following the service.
