Deloris Ellen Arendell, 93, was carried home by the angels on October 30, 2004.

She passed quietly at home after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

"Mamaw," our matriarch, loved her family around her. You never left her house without a home-cooked meal or a big wet kiss.

In her earlier years she loved to bow, crochet, do word puzzles, embroider quilt squares and play slots and poker. She was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star. She helped "Papaw" take bus loads of kids to the Shrine Circus. After they retired, she and "Papaw" divided their year between Kuttawa, Kentucky and Tucson, Arizona. They loved the Arizona Wildcats. "Mamaw" we will miss you. There will never be another you.

Deloris was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Irma Barfield Ahlemann, her loving husband, Tom, sisters, Genora, Regine and daughter-in-law, Betty.

She is survived by her daughter, Sue (Don) Bottoms; sons, Dave and Don (Shirley) Arendell; a sister in law, Bonnie Harris; grandchildren, Rick, Eddie, Terri, Jane, Ellen, Scott, Alex, Randy and Brad; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, November 5 at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home, in Oakland City, with the Rev. Matt Malin officiating. Burial will be in the North View Cemetery, in Elberfeld. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. until service time Friday, at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home.
