Billy Wayne Basham, age 81, of Beckley, WV passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley.
Born on February 23, 1941 in Beckley, he was the son of the late Cecil Basham and Gladys Miller Basham.
Mr. Basham was a retired mine fabrication shop employee for P.I. Mine Service in Beckley. He was a member of Beckley Praise Church, and enjoyed flower gardening in his spare time.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Jerry Basham, Larry Basham, Jimmy Basham, Ricky Basham, Doris Hamm and Linda Raines.
Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife of 57 years, Jo Ann Brooks Basham; his children, Reva Basham of TN, Melisa Bowyer and husband Steve of Princeton, Veronica Mitchell of SC, and Billy Basham Jr. and wife Melody of Fairdale; a brother Danny Basham of Princeton; nine grandchildren, Eric Basham, Jeffery Warden, Seth Warden, Ashley Workman, Hannah Brehm, Dylan Basham, Kacie Ellis, Carrie Jo Miller, and Clay Basham; ten great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 2 PM with Cecilia "Sally" Chapman and Pastor Don Powers officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
