Funeral services for Mr. John Alford Benedict will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, October 20, 2022, in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, with Reverend Stanley Stone officiating.

Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Gardens, Pollock, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.

Mr. Benedict, 85, of Ball, entered eternal rest on Monday, October 17, 2022, in his residence.

He worked many years and also retired as a school bus driver with the Rapides Parish School Board. He was a very skilled craftsman in all aspects of construction where he loved being a carpenter. He enjoyed fishing, singing bass in the quartet, and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-two years, Claudia Benedict; one son, Claude "Petey" Benedict; his parents, Robert and Juanita Benedict; and three sisters, Pauline, Mary, and Ann.

Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include four sons, Bobby Benedict (Jackie) of Covington, Mike Benedict of Plano, Texas, Mark Benedict of Dry Prong, and John David Durand (Kelli) of Pollock; six daughters, Ruby Mabry (Harold) of Plano, Texas, Karen Stone (Stanley) of Ball, Lisa Durand of Ball, Rachel Benedict (Rob) of Dry Prong, Sherry Ledington of Ball, and Kristan Delaney (Jeff) of Ball; one brother, Jim Benedict (Dorothy) of Ball; his former wife, Sammie Benedict of Plano, Texas; twenty-three grandchildren, an abundance of great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will resume in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Thursday, October 20, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until of services.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Michael Brooks, Conner Delaney, Jacob Giordano, Greg Credeur, and Trace Brooks.
