Harley George Bergman, Hendricks, MN., died Tuesday, February 5, 2008, at the Hendricks Hospital, at the age of 88 years, 11 months, and 22 days.

He was born February 14, 1919, in Verdi, MN, the son of George and Julia Bergman. He was baptized in Verdi and confirmed in Lake Benton.

On August 6, 1938, Harley was united in married to Pearl Christopherson in Tyler. Following their marriage, they farmed near Verdi. The couple also lived in Rapid City, SD, and St. Paul, MN, where Harley worked as a carpenter. He was a janitor for the Elkton School and also had a hobby farm. Harley retired and moved to Hendricks in 1993. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hendricks. He enjoyed raising animals and being a handyman for friends and family. He looked forward to laughing, visiting, and helping at the Hendricks Senior Dining Center.

He is survived by his son: Dale (Leanna) Bergman of Dilworth, MN; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother: Clarence of Spearfish, SD; sister: Whynema Ehlers of Flandreau, SD; nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Pearl; brothers: Harvey and Mansel; sisters: Elda, Ildra, and Alma; and granddaughter: Belinda Bergman.

Arrangements were by: Birk Funeral Home in Hendricks. Interment was in the Elkton City Cemetery in Elkton, SD. Blessed be his memory.
