Rev. J. R. McBride Conducts Rites; Burial at Murdock

Funeral services were held here Wednesday afternoon for Fred E. Baker,70, who died Sunday at his home.He had been ill three years and July 2 suffered a Paralytic Stroke.

Services were held at 2:30 p.m. in Barr & Son funeral home with Rev.J.R. McBride officiating. Burial was in Murdock Cemetery.

Pallbearers were W.O.Taylor,Alva Bradford,Jess Morgan,Ed Lucas,Andy Fritts and Floyd Taylor. Flowerbearers were Mrs. Ed Lucas,Mrs. Blanche Worstel,Mrs Floyd Taylor,Mrs.Max Passon,Mrs. Forrest Payton,and Mrs. Lucille Good.

Mr. Baker was the oldest son of the lated Harmon H and Clara Owen Baker. He was born in Fairland on May 12,1883. His wife,who survives,is the former Elcy A Coslet. They were Married June 7,1908.

Also surviving are four children (Mrs Viola Vermillion,and Mrs Irene Melton of Newman,Ralph H Baker of Camargo and Mrs Evelyn McKain of Springfield),a brother (Earl E Baker of Milwwaukee),two sisters (Miss Maude Baker of Argenta,Il,and Mrs Pearl Alexander of Bainbridge,Ind) 12 grandchildren and five great-grand children.

He was preceded in death by his parents,three sisters and a brother.
