Dora Jean Swenson
Dora Jean Swenson, 90, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2014. She was born September 8, 1923, to Sonny and Norma Jean Birge in Harrington, Washington. She married Darel Swenson on December 1, 1946. They later moved to Pendleton with their sons Jim and Jack.

They started a business, C&C Distributing. Dora Jean helped Darel deliver Rainier Beer. Dora Jean then went to work at St. Anthony Hospital as a ward clerk, she was known as nurse Andy. She later retired, becoming a housewife and taking care of her family.

Dora Jean enjoyed camping, gardening and going to the Oregon Coast, walking for miles picking up all kinds of objects. She was also involved in watching her sons play sports.

Dora Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, her parents, and brothers Bobby Dean and Cecil Birge.

She is survived by her sons Jim (Debbie) Swenson and Jack (Kathy) Swenson of Pendleton, grandchildren Kerri and Kyle Swenson and Jamie Rabb, and great-grandchildren Derryck, Clara and Branson.

She will be truly missed for her kind and loving heart.

As per Dora Jean’s request, there will be no services.
