Sarah Elvera Campbell Green, 92, died Feb. 5, 2008 in Riverton, Utah.





Elvera was born July 23, 1915 in Burley, Cassia County, Idaho, to Charles Newton Campell and Rhoda Elvera Randall, the oldest of nine children. Elvera attended school in Rupert, Idaho, and graduated from Rupert High School in 1933, a member of the school's scholastic achievement organization, and attended both Ricks College and Brigham Young University where she met Doyle L. Green. She served a mission to Great Britain, while he was serving his mission in Tahiti. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on September 15, 1939. They are the parents of five children.





Elvera was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served throughout her life in many positions on both stake and ward levels. She enjoyed traveling, and had traveled extensively. She was an artist, and her oil paintings hang in the homes of and are cherished by many family members. After Doyle's death in 1975, Elvera wrote and published his biography, A Great and Noble Soul. She served a second mission, this time to Independence, Missouri. She published Tartan, Sage and History, a genealogy and history of the ancestors and descendants of Robert William Rowe Campbell and Sarah Newton, based on years of original research.




Elvera was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; two sisters; her husband, Doyle L. Green; a daughter, Carma May Morgan; and a granddaughter, Melinda Ann Montague. She is survived by a son, Randall L. (JoAnne) Green; and three daughters, Sherilyn (Monroe) Tyler, Lois (Burr) Dallof, and Colleen (Dave) Waggoner. Other survivors include two sisters, two brothers, 23 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren.




Elvera was a woman of accomplishment, culture and faith. She filled her days with service and beauty. Those who knew and loved her are grateful for all she did for them, was to them and taught them. She will be sorely missed, and we will joy in the day when we can be with her once more.





Funeral Services will be held at the LDS Green Oaks Chapel, 932 West Green Oaks Dr. (5900 S.), Murray at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2008. Prior to the Service a Viewing will be held from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment will be at Mountain View Memorial Estates Cemetery, 3115 E. 7800 S.
