Virginia D. Miller age 94 of Canton, passed away Tuesday, October 29th, 2013. She was born January 24th, 1919 to the late George and Lucretia Wendt. She retired from Borden's Ice Cream and went on to work many other jobs including Ecko Cookware, a hairdresser, seamstress and taught ceramics. She will be remembered for her ceramics and sewing, and the many quilts made with love in every stitch. In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Robert E. Miller in 2010. Also deceased are her brothers; Herman Wendt, Arthur Wendt, and George Wendt, Jr., her sisters, Mabel Ernest, Lola Antill, Helen Anderson, and Grace DePew. She is survived by her brother Lloyd (Delores) Wendt of Moundsville, WV and special niece Erma Cofer, with whom she lived for many years before residing in an assisted living facility. There are many nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral services will be at 1:30pm on Thursday, October 31st at The Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel, officiated by the Reverend Carolyn Wagar Hier. Calling hours will be held one hour prior to the services from 12:30-1:30pm. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
