Elizabeth married First Lieutenant Water Byron Fariss on June 27, 1918, at St. Pauls's Evangelical church in Leavenworth, Kansas.
After Col. Fariss passed on, Elizabeth married Gilbert Ernest Bell. They made their home in Summit, New Jersey. Gilbert died on May 14, 1977.

Elizabeth Bell, 98, grandmother of 8.
CHATHAM - Elizabeth Fariss Bell died Feb. 14 [Feb.10]. She was 98. She was born in Leavenworth, Kan.
After her first husband, Col. Walter B. Fariss, retired from the Army after 30 years in 1949, they moved to Summit. She also lived in Short Hills and in Chatham.
She was a homemaker.
She attended the University of Kansas.
Mrs. Bell had been active in the Central Presbyterian Church of Summit and the Fortnightly Club in Summit and was a member of the Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield.
Both Mr. Fariss and Mrs. Bell's second husband, Gilbert E., died previously.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte Hartlaub of Chatham and Betty Curran of Champaign, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Marjorie Bell of Newtonville, Mass., and Lois Bell of New Bern, N.C; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are by William R. Dangler Funeral Home, 309 Springfield Ave., Summit.
