SCHMIDT, Mrs. Lydia-On Friday, Dec. 27, 1985, at her residence, Brunner Nursing Home, and formerly of Newton.
She was born in East Zorra township 87 years ago, a daughter of the late Jacob S. Wagler and the former Lydia Brenneman.
Beloved wife of Nicholas Schmidt of Newton, whom she married July 2, 1925; lovingly remembered by her children, Jacob and his wife Barbara; Jonas and his wife Verna, all of Newton, Miriam (Mrs. Ezra Kuepfer), Clara (Mrs. Le Roy Carter), all of RR 1, Newton; dear sister of Solomon of Paradise, Pa.,, Jonas of New Hamburg, Mrs. Dorothy Steckly of RR 2, Atwood, Veronica (Mrs. Dan Albrecht) of RR 1, Newton. Sadly missed by 21 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by one grandchild, Stephen; two brothers, Dan and William and one sister, Olive (Mrs. Joe Schmidt).
Friends and relatives may call at Le Roy Carter's residence, north half Lot 4, Concession 7, Mornington township, after 2:30 today and until Monday, where the service will be held at 1 p.m., with Bishop William Carter officiating. Interment to follow in the Seventh Line Amish Mennonite cemetery, Mornington township.
