Marilyn "Joyce" Scruggs, 65, passed away Monday, October 3, 2022 in Marlow.
Joyce was born Wednesday, September 11, 1957 in Hobbs, NM, to Curtis Karl and Peggy Ruth (Beard) Scruggs. She was a graduate of Rush Springs High School. Joyce lived in the Marlow and Rush Springs area all of her life. She spent many years working as a peanut dryer at Mitchell and Mitchell's and then as a nutrition specialist at Gregstons Nursing Home. Joyce loved the water and she enjoyed camping and fishing. She would even go out and catch her own minnows. Joyce was a woman who was always full of life and laughter. She loved her family more than anything else and her grandkids were her world. Joyce never missed an opportunity to spend time with them. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include 2 sons, Curtis Elam and wife, Misti, of Comanche, and Shane Elam and wife, Terina, of Rush Springs; daughter, Heather Ruthstrom and husband, Jason, of Duncan; 6 grandchildren; sister, Shannon Foster and husband, Bobby; a companion of many years, Terry Grissom of Marlow; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Carla Prieto; and grandson, Justice Elam.
