Marion Eleanor Bender passed on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at age 92 years, 10 months, 20 days. Her last days and weeks were spent surrounded with loving family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held in her honor on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Croxford Funeral Home in the Rose Room Chapel, with a luncheon to follow at the Eagles Lodge, 1501 9th Street South.
Marion and her twin sister, Margaret (Margie) were born November 12, 1929, in Rolette, ND, to Charles E. and Anna M. Adams (Johnson). Marion had three sisters: Ethel, Edna, and Margaret, and one brother, Vern. She grew up on the family farm in Rollette County, North Dakota, and attended school in Barton, ND and high school in St John, ND. The family moved to Great Falls in 1947, where she attended Great Falls High School.
She married Larry (Lawrence O.) Bender June 26, 1949, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Great Falls, a marriage that lasted 51 years, until his death November 24, 2000. Marion and Larry had a great passion for dancing at the clubs they belonged to. They loved to share their graceful abilities by teaching others to cut a rug! Truth be told, Marion danced up until May of 2022!
Marion worked as a Nurse's Aide at the Cascade County Convalescent Nursing home from 1964, after her youngest daughter started school, until her retirement in 1992.
She is survived by her children, Sharon Klundt, Great Falls; Roger (Valarie) Bender, Warden, MT; Bonnie (Mark) Christian of Lincoln, MT; Cathie (Jack) Sanders, Great Falls, MT; Shelly (Wayne) Jones, Tracy, MT and grandchildren: Tanya (Chad) Hovland, Shawn (Ashley) Brass, Robbie (Kerri) Bender, Charlie (Jamey) Bender, Carey Mounts, Chad (Molly) Brown, David (Janet) Brown, Tara (Brad) Furman, Doug (Devon) Sanders, Jerry (Melissa) Sanders, and Travis R. Bender. She was also blessed with 35 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and siblings and one great grandchild.
