Margaret Evelyn Sack passed on Sunday Sept 29th, 2019 at age 89. Her last days were spent surrounded by family and friends who love her. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Croxford Funeral home in The Rose Room Chapel.
Margaret was lovingly called “Margie” by her friends and family and “Mingy” by her nephew, David. Margie and her twin sister, Marion, were born on November 12th 1929 in Rolette, ND, to Elmer and Anna Adams. Margie had three sisters, Marion, Ethel, and Edna, and one brother, Vern. Margie grew up on the family farm in North Dakota and attended school in Barton, ND. She later moved to Great Falls in 1947 and began her career at the Columbus Hospital as a candy striper. She met the love of her life, Morris Sack, and they married in May 1955. Margie was devoted to raising their four children, Linda, Darryl, Sheila, and Rick. She also worked at Woolworth’s dime store downtown and later she enjoyed helping serve lunches to the kids at CMR high school. Margie had a love for people and she would always take the time to stop and visit about your family and current affairs. Margie’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. She loved to go dancing, camping, and boating. She especially enjoyed catching up with everyone at family dinners and picnics. Margie rarely missed the occasion to watch her boys play baseball and later she attended many sporting and school events for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Margie had a special talent for BINGO and when her sister visited from North Dakota they would sneak out for a few games of afternoon BINGO. She furnished many a room in her home with her BINGO winnings and was proud to show you her new hutch, davenport or carpet. She was always generous with her winnings and if you were a grandkid there on the right day you might just get a little something extra. She was generous in so many more ways as well. She gave her time whenever her family needed, even when her kids were grown and had families of their own. She also volunteered for many years at Benefis Hospital Extended Care. Her Lutheran faith was important to her and she was a longstanding member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church ladies aide. She was proud to show off her daughters and granddaughters at the annual Mother and Daughter banquets and this was a special time to get to spend with her. Margie held a special place in so many hearts and lives and will be missed by all.
A special thank you to her second family at Benefis Extended Care who so lovingly cared for her during her later years as she struggled with dementia. You are all her angels here on earth. Her family is so grateful for the love and excellent care she received and there are not enough words to express this. Linda, Darryl and Rick want to say a special thank you to Sheila for everything you did for mom. You were there every day being her voice when she no longer had one. You were her biggest advocate and we are grateful for your strength and devotion to her. Thanks to Shayla and Chloe for bringing Grandma Margie lots of smiles and taking such good care of her.
