Luther Franklin Cossey, 85, affectionately known as "Junior", departed this life on Thursday, May 20, 2021. He was born May 1, 1936 to James Luther and Nettie (Thornton) Cossey.

Junior was a member of the Tuckerman Church of Christ. He loved playing music and singing. He was a huge St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan and an avid reader. His favorite authors were Louis L'Amour and John Grisham. In his spare time he enjoyed watching westerns. Junior married Dollie Mae (Herring) Cossey on July 10, 1964 and they remained together for 44 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dollie Cossey; three brothers, Ray Cossey, Alfred Cossey and Harvey Cossey; two sisters, Ruby Gilmore and Alice Dean.

He is survived by two sons, William Bryon Fletcher (Sherry) of North Carolina, Jerry Lynn Fletcher of Alabama; one daughter, Rhonda Michele Vandergriff (Steven) of Tuckerman; one brother, James Cossey (Sue) of Tuckerman; three sisters, Bonnie Stephens (Lehman) of Batesville, Lois Hanser (Paul) of Iowa, Doris Parker of Missouri; one grandchild, Jessica Seat (Robert) of Cave City; two great-grandchildren, Bryon Seat and Joanne Seat of Cave City and special friend, Amy Barton.

Visitation will be Monday, May 24, 2021 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Dillinger Funeral Home. Service will be Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Dillinger Funeral Home. Interment will be at Dowell Chapel Cemetery.
