Mary was the mother of eight children. In addition to the children listed below, were born: Thomas C. (b September 1869), Mamie (b. May 15, 1876 d. October 30, 1882), and George (b. June 1880).

The following obituary appeared in the Titusville Herald, Saturday, October 27, 1906:

MRS. PATRICK CUMMISKEY WAS FOUND DEAD IN BED

Seized by Heart Failure and Found Later by Her Young Daughter.

Mrs. Mary Cummiskey, wife of Patrick Cummiskey, died very suddenly of heart disease some time yesterday forenoon at the family residence, No. 54 East Spring street. She was found dead in bed by her daughter Goldie, who is employed at Quinn's millinery store. When the girl went home and found her mother in bed she did not think strangely of it, but when she attempted to rouse the prostrate woman she discovered that the spirit had departed. Mrs. Cummiskey had been in poor health for some little time, suffering from a stomach ailment, but it was not known that her heart was seriously affected.

Mrs. Cummiskey was born in Scotland fifty-nine years ago and came to this country when a girl. Her maiden name was Mary Welsh. She was married to Patrick Cummiskey in Meadville in 1866 and they moved to Titusville about thirty years ago. This city had been their home since that time. Mrs. Cummiskey was a devout member of St. Titus' congregation and will be buried under the auspices of that organization at a time to be announced later. She is survived by her husband and the following children: Michael of Oil City; Thomas of New Jersey; John of Panama; George of Chicago; Miss Mabel, a nurse at the North Warren hospital, and Miss Goldie, living at home.

Arrangements for the funeral had not been completed late last evening.
