Allen Edward "Pete" Bittner, 65, of Kennells Mill, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2022, at his home.

Born December 19, 1956, in Cumberland; he was a son of the late Harvey Bittner and Alzene (Kennell) Bittner Sweitzer. Also preceded in death by stepfather, Millard Sweitzer; and brother, Harry Bittner.

Survived by his wife of 47 years, Denise "Kim" (Baker) Bittner, whom he married, February 16, 1975; children, Michael C. Bittner and wife Terri, Columbus, OH, Lisa D. Smith and husband Kevin, Hyndman, Jason A. Bittner, Columbus, OH, Derek L. Bittner and wife Veronica, Leesburg, GA; five grandchildren, Shaine, Rian, Kylie, Theo, and Nico Bittner.

"Pete" had worked at Cumberland Cement and Supply for 24 years running heavy equipment and at Martin's Grocery Store for 20 years, where he oversaw ordering. He was a member of the Kennells Mill Sportsmen's Club, coached little league and played softball on the Palo Alto and Hobo's Teams. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed gardening. "Pete" had a "green thumb" and enjoyed sharing his harvest.

He also leaves two beloved dogs.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Monday October 3, 2022 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home Tuesday October 4, 2022 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ken Korns officiating. Viewing one hour prior.

Pallbearers will be Michael C. Bittner, Jason A. Bittner, Derek L. Bittner, Kevin Smith, Robert Reese, Luther Reese Jr. and Tom Hite.

Burial will follow at Comps Cemetery.
