Alice Irene Espinosa, 83, a long time Lafayette resident, died on March 27, 2015, at the Villa at Sunny Acres, St. Anthony's Hospice Center, Thornton, Colorado. Alice was born December 4, 1931, in Park, Kansas to Peter and Angela Leiker.

The Leiker Family moved to Denver, CO in 1946. In 1948, she married John E. Torres. They were married for 20 years and lived in Lafayette.

Alice was a loving, compassionate, humble and spiritual woman. In spite of dealing with failing health for the past several years, and the last year especially, she maintained a sense of humor, an ever-present concern for her family, and a deep faith in God. She lived a simple, full life surrounded by family and friends.

Her surviving children are John A. Torres, Broomfield; David Torres (Eugenia), Kino Bay, Mexico; Gary D. Torres, Broomfield; Michael A. Torres (Rose), Brighton; Donna L. Newton (Steve), Lyons; Laurie A. Chavez (Arthur), Erie; Tom E. Espinosa (Eileen), Thornton. Alice has 25 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren. Her surviving siblings are: Wilda Black, Wellington, CO and Lynn Henry, Ft. Morgan, CO.

Her second husband, Eddie Espinosa, preceded her in death in 2001.

She was preceded in death by her son Robert L. Torres; grandchildren Bobby Swope and Rachel Garcia; and eleven siblings.

Services will be held on Monday, April 6 at 11:00 a.m. at the Boulder Valley Christian Church, 7100 South Boulder Road, Boulder, CO. A reception will follow the service. Cremation service will be handled by DeWitt and Tabler Funeral Directors, Thornton, CO. Please send flowers to The Boulder Valley Christian Church.
