BROOKS, PEGGY L. Born Oct. 19, 1931 and passed away May 30, 2008. Preceded in death by her husband, Ernest M. Brooks, Jr; daughter, Peggy Jean; father and mother, Ethan & Lela Hale; brothers, Louis, Ethan, & Don; sister, Mary Joyce Alexander. Survived by stepsons, David, Tony & Alfred Brooks; sisters, Imogene Thompson, Jane Thompson, Jeanette Smith; brother, Bob Hale, along with a host of other relatives and friends. After Peggy's father & mother died in 1940 she went to live with her aunt Tot (Beadie) & uncle Jim Carter in Tyler, TX. For about 9 years. She worked for 35 years as a telephone operator for South Western Bell. Peggy married Ernie Brooks in May 1976. They had 30 good years together. They were members of Calvary Baptist Church, Dallas, TX. 75208. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M.
