Jo was born in Southland on March 22, 1928 to Ethan Ernest Hale and Lela Gertrude Hale. She married Mack (Pete) Alexander on November 3, 1946 in Durant, Okla. She spent her entire life serving others in the capacity of Prison Ministries, Family Outreach, Children's Homes, Austin Street Church of Christ's funeral ministry, VBS, and Ladies Bible Studies. She was her husband's right hand in working their farms. She was the heart string that kept her family tied together. Proverbs 31 beautifully depicts her in writing: "For her worth is far above jewels"she works with her hands in delight".she brings her food from afar".she girds herself with strength"she extends her hand to the poor"strength and dignity are her clothing"her children rise up and bless her."
She is preceded in death by her husband, Pete, who passed away on January 1, 2006 and by brothers, Louis Hale, Ethan Hale, Jr., and Don Hale.
She was blessed by 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchil-dren.
