Mary Champe Willis (c1765-92) married c1784, Hay Battaile (1760-c1820). He was a justice, sheriff, and member of the Virginia House of Delegates, 1815-20, from Caroline County, Va. He died in Montgomery County, Ky. Four children were Capt. John Willis (c1785-) who married Mary Willis Daingerfield (1774-1879?); Hannah (c1787-) who married (1) in 1804, Richard Hoomes (1784-1823), and (2) in 1826, Benjamin Gatewood; Maria (c1789-) who married in 1807, Muscoe Garnett (1783/6-1870); and Capt. Nicholas Lewis Battaile (c1791-1858) who married (1) in 1819, Sara Battaile (-1820), (2) in 1824, Sarah Digges Thornton (1800-), and (3) in 1844, Ann Armistead Allen (1814-).
