Emmett Lee Skiles, 66, Apache Junction, AZ, (formerly of Belton, MO) died April 3, 1997, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 10, at Lake Paradise, Oak Grove, MO (approximately 20 minutes east of Kansas City).

Following the memorial service a reunion and potluck will be held as a tribute to Emmett for his love of music, family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Emmett L. Skiles Memorial Fund, c/o Bank of Midwest, Grandview, MO.

Mr. Skiles was born in Richmond, MO, on July 2, 1930, the son of Charley & Christine Skiles. He worked for Signal Delivery and was a member of Teamsters Local 838, retiring in 1987. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Chris Bridgeforth. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Ella M. Skiles, of the home; three daughters, Renee' & Walter Leon, Norwalk, CA, Linda & Stan Sease, Shawnee, KS, and Karen & Mark Granthum, Grandview, MO; two sons, Charlie & Samantha Skiles, Harrisonville, MO, and Mike & Mary Skiles, Grandview, MO; one sister, Mildred Burchitt, Raytown, MO; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He loved music, laughter and truly was everyone's friend.
