Arthur R. Pina, Sr., 97 of Salinas, California passed away peacefully into our Lord's hands on Thursday, September 8, 2022. Arthur (Art) was born April 11, 1925 in Corona, California to John and Lillian Pina. On July 25, 1943, at the age of 18, Art married the love of his life, Esther. Shortly after their marriage they moved to the Monterey Peninsula where they lived in Marina, Pacific Grove and Seaside for the next 16 years before moving to Salinas in 1959, where they spent the rest of their lives. This was during the war and Art worked as a truck driver. He continued to drive truck until he was injured in an accident in 1966. In 1967, after being unable to go back to work after his accident, he and our Mom opened Pina's Wedding World on South Main and Winham in Salinas, where he printed all the napkins and favor cards and anything else that she needed help with for the customer. They retired in 1979.

They had four children; Arthur R. Pina, Jr., Ronald L. Pina, Priscilla M. Lee and Andrew M. Pina.

He and our Mom were members of the First Presbyterian Church now Compass Church for many years. Previously, they were long time members of the First Baptist Church of Salinas. He served in many capacities over the years; bus driver, treasurer, construction, counselor, deacon, etc. Where ever God led him to serve, he was there 100%. Art was also a member of the Gideons International for 53 years.

Art was also a loyal San Francisco Giants Fan. Even though they lost a lot of games, he continued to watch them to the end.

Art was preceded in death by his parents, brother, George Pina, wife, Esther A. Pina (2010) and son, Ronald L. Pina (2001).

Art is survived by 3 children; Arthur R. Pina, Jr. of Hesperia, Priscilla M. Lee of Oregon and Andrew M. (Gayl) Pina of Salinas Eleven Grandchildren; Arthur R. Pina III (Ray) of North Carolina, Brian Pina of Hollister, Paxton Pina of Wyoming, Antoinette (Toni) Smith of Texas, Calli (Tony) Garcia of Salinas, Jonathan (Miranda) Lee of Oregon, Adam Pina of Fresno, Jennifer Drake of Oregon, Genna (Ronnie) VanVarden of Alabama, Joshua and Jacob Pina of Salinas. Seventeen Great Grandchildren and Nine Great Great Grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Wednesday September 21, 2022 from 4pm-7pm at Struve and Laporte, 41 W. San Luis Street, Salinas, Calif. 93901.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 11:00 am, at Compass Church, 830 Padre Drive, Salinas, California.

Burial to follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 850 Abbott Street, Salinas, Ca. 93901.
