Darlene Mary Greene, 82, a resident of the Hillsboro community, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022, at her home.

Darlene M. (Jansen) Greene was born June 21, 1940, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of the late Lawrence Joseph "Larry" Jansen and Eileen Mary (Vandehey) Jansen. She was raised in the Verboort community, attending Visitation School and later Forest Grove High School, graduating with the class of 1958.

She was united in marriage to Ellis Wilfred "Bud" Greene on October 10, 1959, in the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Verboort. Following their marriage, they resided in the Verboort community until 1989 when they built their home in Hillsboro, where she had lived since.

Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Bud, on November 18, 2020, after celebrating over sixty-one years of marriage together.

She had worked in the banking industry for over thirty years as a manager for Washington Federal Savings in Forest Grove and retiring as manager of West Coast Bank in Hillsboro at the age of sixty-three years old.

Darlene was an active member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Verboort and St. Matthew Parish in Hillsboro, serving as director for the children's choirs for many holidays. She was one of the first women allowed as an active member of the Hillsboro Rotary Club, and she also served on
Hillsboro City Council and Tuality Community Hospital Foundation Board.

Among her many special interests, Darlene enjoyed music, hummingbirds, traveling with her husband Bud, spending time with friends and family at the beach property at Twin Rocks on the Oregon coast; clam digging and gardening, and caring for her roses.

Darlene was also preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Eileen Jansen, and by her sister, Sandy Jansen.

Survivors include her five children and their spouses, Julie Murphy, of Vancouver, Washington; Melinda "Mindy" and Thomas Wolfe, of Bend, Oregon; Donald and Kelly Greene, of Hillsboro, Oregon; Cheryl "Cherie" Greene, of Sherwood, Oregon; and Lisa and Eric Rushing, of Molalla, Oregon, as well as her eight siblings and their spouses, Dale and Mary Jansen, of Redmond, Oregon; Shirley and Ross Vanderzanden, of LaGrande, Oregon; Bob and Barb Jansen, of Cornelius, Oregon; Kathleen Ross, of Yamhill, Oregon; Greg and Judy Jansen, of Hillsboro, Oregon; Lynne Barber, of Dallas, Texas; Keith and Anita Jansen, of Huatulco, Mexico; and Jim and Sherri Jansen, of Jacksonville, Florida.

Also surviving are her eight grandchildren and their spouses, Amanda Murphy and Paul Cary; Jessica Wolfe; Matthew Wolfe; Antonio Greene; Thomas Greene; Nicholas and Jami Banta; Tanner Banta; and Kayla and Conners McMenamin; and her six great-grandchildren, Juniper Murphy Cary; Hunter and Emmett Greene; Kerla Greene; Nash Banta; and Iris McMenamin; and many nieces and nephews.
