Douglas Clarence Wisenbaker, 80, of Valdosta, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at South Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness. He was born on September 3, 1942, in Lowndes County to the late Louis Byrd Wisenbaker and Cuba Lucille Carter Wisenbaker. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Douglas loved being outdoors and tinkering on various projects. He enjoyed gardening and met daily at Bojangles for fellowship with his friends. He was married 53 years to his loving wife Goldie. He had worked for Harvey International, Valdosta Diesel, Georgia Mack, and Schroeder Implement, Inc. over the years.

Douglas is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Goldie Plair Wisenbaker, of Valdosta; children, David (Shannon) Wisenbaker, Kathy (Franklin Kim) Carter; grandchildren, Zane (Bre) Wisenbaker, Clint Carter, Sandy Carter, Jamey Carter, Kacey Carter, and Haleigh Henderson; seven great grandchildren; sisters, Marion Johnson, and Delita Barwick (Bruce); many nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Bobby Wisenbaker, Harold Wisenbaker, Wesley Wisenbaker, and Donald Wisenbaker.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Ousley Baptist Church with Brother Jack Justice officiating. Burial will follow at Ousley Baptist Church Cemetery.
