The Fassetts were the earliest pioneer families of Vermont's fist settlement Bennington along the Robinsons, Fays, Saffords and Harwoods. David Fassett might be buried at Enosburg Center Cemetery, where his wife Sabra is buried. Sabra was the younger sister of Gen Samuel Safford (1737-1813) of Bennington, who was Lt. Col of the Green Mountain Boys Regiment during the Revolution. David, Samuel ,and all their cousins established the very first Green Mountain Boy militia in 1764.
