Paul David Hurt, of Odessa, died Saturday, August 27, 2022, at the age of 69.

Graveside services will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at 10:00 AM.

Paul was born June 3, 1953, to Gene and Elizabeth Hurt and was an only child.

Paul is survived by his wife, Cary Renee of Odessa; three sons, Ryan Wyatt Hurt of Odessa, Chris Hurt and wife Shanda of Frisco, and Steve Hurt; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Paul graduated from Permian High School in 1971.

Before and after high school he worked with his grandad, Webb Hurt, and his father, Gene "Old Pro" Hurt at Hurt Inc., a lawn and garden center known throughout West Texas. Hurt Inc. was a full nursey, landscaping, florist shop and an all-around service provider for commercial and residential lawns and gardens. Paul eventually took over the business and successfully ran it for more than 45 years. He was a hard worker and carried his family's legacy as a leader in horticulture.

Paul loved to travel, especially to the beach.

He was an avid coin, currency and gun collector, and enjoyed the tradeshows.

Paul enjoyed cars and owned many including, a Maserati and many Shelbys.

He and his wife owned land in Lajitas as well as a home in Terlingua.
