Born July 24, 1943, in Harrisburg, he was a son of the late Elwood H. and Marie D. (Hipple) Stoner.
Bill was a graduate of John Harris High School and later earned his Associate Degree from Harrisburg Area Community College.
He served his Country in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years prior to earning his Honorable Discharge.
For thirty-five years, Bill worked as a Coatings Engineer for TRW / Chromalloy prior to becoming an Independent Consultant.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 751, Enola.
An avid hunter – particularly with a bow and arrow – and fisherman, Bill also enjoyed reading.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters: Sandra L. Zerance and Charlene Lucabaugh; and, his brothers: Barry L. Stoner and Herbert E. Stoner.
Bill is survived by his wife: Gail E. (Pearson) Kennedy Stoner; his daughter: Kelli S. (Dwight) Bretz; his son: William H. Stoner, Jr.; his step-daughters: Shelley (John Calvin J. C.) Morrison, Sherri (Wade) Clubley, and Susan Kennedy; his three granddaughters; his two step-granddaughters; his two step-grandsons; his sisters: Helen L. Over and Deborah A. Bender; and, his brothers: Michael R. Stoner and Steven A. Stoner.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for his viewing from 10:30 - 11:30 AM on Wednesday, September 07, 2022 in the Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home, Incorporated, 2100 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg. Funeral Services will begin at 11:30 AM with Rev. Jonathan Weigel officiating.
Interment will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 01:30 PM.
