Emily C. Smith
Ordinary - Emily C. Green Smith, 73, passed away on Monday, June 17, 1996.
She was a native of Gloucester County and attended the Gloucester County public schools. She also drove a school bus for the county for many years. At an early age, Emily joined First Baptist Church, Ordinary, where she served on the Senior Choir until she became ill.
She leaves to cherish wonderful memories her husband, Alfred Lee Smith; a daughter, Barbara Smith of Maryland; her grandson, Steven Smith, and his companion, Marie Preston of Ohio; three brothers, Vernon Green, Herman Green and Morris Green, all of Gloucester; eight sisters-in-law; two brothers–in–law; a special grandson, Jermaine Lowary; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 22, at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Ordinary, with the Rev. Walter J. Roy officiating. The casket will be placed in church by noon. Burial will follow services in St. Paul Baptist Church Cemetery. Viewing and family visitation will be Friday, June 21, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Carter Funeral Home, Gloucester Chapel. Family and friends will assemble at Ordinary by 12:15 p.m. on Saturday.
