Amelia was a daughter of Richard Finley and Penellipa Conn. Her parents were born in Maryland. Amelia married in about 1780 in Pennsylvania. Her husband fought in the Revolutionary War. Her family moved to Jefferson County, Kentucky by about 1789, as pioneers in the new territory. In 1810, they were a family of 9 with 3 slaves, living in Jefferson County, Kentucky. In 1920, they were a family of 8 living in Greenville, Floyd County, Indiana. In 1930 they were living in New Albany, Floyd County, Indiana, a family of five. Amelia's death date is given in family trees such as Genianet Community Trees. As she died only one week after her husband, it is presumed that she was buried near him .
