Born in 1878 in Chillicothe, Mo., he moved to Taloga at the age of 20. He owned and operated the Taloga Advocate for several years. He went to Laverne in 1912 to operate the Laverne Leader, which he purchased from C. E. Herschberger and W. G. Darbro. He operated the paper until 1916, when he left the newspaper business. He had been a farmer near Laverne until about a year ago, when he again moved to Laverne.
Funeral services were held July 17 in Laverne.
