"John D. Foster, retired branch manager of Ingersoll-Rand Co., died today in a hospital. He was 85.
Mr. Foster was general manager of the El Paso and Mexico City areas for Ingersoll-Rand and worked in Mexico City until he became branch manager here in 1908. He retired in 1936. He was prominent in civic affairs many years. He was a member of the First Methodist Church and the Kiwanis Club. He lived at 3421 Mobile street.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lillie Foster, and a daughter, Miss Helen Foster, both of El Paso; and a son, Justin W. Foster of Easton, Penn.
