Douglas Gray Hilliard, Sr., 86, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at his home.
Born February 29, 1936, he was the son of the late Charles Samuel Hilliard and Nina Irene (Gray) Hilliard. He was a technician at Corning Glass. He was also a member of the WV Air Guard and attended Darkesville United Methodist Church. Douglas was a graduate of Martinsburg High School.
Douglas is survived by wife Joyce Lee (Mong) Hilliard of the home, sons Douglas "Dougie" G. Hilliard, Jr., of Inwood, William A. "Andy" Hilliard (Sylvia) of Pace, FL; brother Wayne Hilliard (Barbara) of Martinsburg; sister Helen Dugan (Dale) of Hedgesville; grandchildren Naya and Nina Hilliard of Pace, FL, Jayson Hilliard of Bunker Hill and great-grandchild Summer Rose Hilliard of Bunker Hill.
Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Braithwaite.
Services will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood with Pastor Stephen Knox officiating.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the chapel.
Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Martinsburg Union Rescue Mission, 608 W King St, Martinsburg, WV 25401.
