Jennings (Boy) C. Galyean 74, of Peterstown, WV, beloved husband, father and grandfather went home to be with his Lord and Savior early Thursday morning August 25, 2022.
Jennings was born February 26, 1948 in Mohawk, WV, a son of the late Jennings and Lillian Cline Galyean. He graduated from Iaeger High School in 1965 and entered the armed forces, proudly serving his country. He was stationed in Baumholder, Germany and left the army with an honorable discharge before starting his career as a coal miner. He was an EMT and mine foreman for many years and worked past his age of retirement. Jennings was an avid bee keeper for 50 plus years, spending much of his time tending his bees. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and being outdoors.
In addition to his parents, Jennings was preceded in death by one son, Michael Galyean and two brothers, Gary and Benny Galyean.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Janet Galyean of the home; two daughters, Cris Galyean (Johnny Paige) of Baisden, WV and Nevaeh Galyean of the home; grandchildren, Kendra May of Baisden, Tyler May (Amiee Mitchell) of Hanover, Ciara May of Gilbert, Victoria Galyean (Ryan Pennington) of LOGAN, Dylan Cline of Isaban and Kayden Galyean also of Isaban; great grandchildren, Hayden Cline of Baisden and John Tyler May of Gilbert; sisters, Norma Hand and husband Bob of Bristol, VA, Bobbie Galyean of Beckley, Bernice Galyean also of Beckley, Stella Richie of Indiana and Karen Silvers of Bluefield, WV; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Galyean of Isaban; and special friends Norman Thompson and Timothy Kirk.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Pete Dunford officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV. Burial will follow in the Four Pole Cemetery at Mohawk, WV. Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
Friends may visit with the family at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, Tuesday, August 30, 2022, from1 p.m. until he time of services at 2 p.m.
