Benny Edward Galyean, age 64, of Bozoo Rd., Peterstown, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg, VA. Born February 18, 1955, at Mohawk, WV, he was the son of the late Jennings and Lillian Cline Galyean. In addition to his parents, Benny was preceded in death by one daughter, Adrionna Galyean; and one brother, Gary Galyean.
Benny was a retired coal miner, a member of the UMWA, and of the Pentecostal Faith. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Linda K. Chambers Galyean; three sons, Benny Ray Galyean of Gilbert Creek, WV, Derek Galyean and wife Opal, and Samuel Galyean, all of Peterstown, WV; one brother, Jennings C. Galyean and wife Janet of Peterstown, WV; five sisters, Norma Hand and husband Bob of Bristol, VA, Stella Richie of Waterloo, IN, Bernice Galyean and Bobbie Galyean, both of Beckley, WV, and Karen Silvers and husband Alan of Bluefield, WV; three grandsons, Dakota and Marcus Galyean, and Jason Galyean Sowards.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 7, 2019, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV, with Pastor Thomas Fife officiating. Burial will follow at the Sunset View Cemetery, Bozoo, WV. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until time of services on Friday at the funeral home.
