James Allen "Ned" Goff was born April 4, 1949, and passed away Thursday morning, Dec. 8, 2011. He was 62 years old and the youngest and last remaining sibling of his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Daisy Goff; sisters, Cornelia Otera Goff, Gertrude Goff Allan, and Minnie Jean Goff Davis; and brothers, Charles Eugene "Shine" Goff, Curtis Goff, and J.M. "Red" Goff and wife Jane. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Joyce Efferson "JoJo" Goff and his daughter Sissy Lynn Goff Smith; two grandchildren, Patrick and Kristen Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ned grew up in Denham Springs and later moved to Columbia, Louisiana. He was a much loved community member and friend who will be dearly missed. Ned always had a special charismatic charm, a radiant smile, a resounding laugh and a love for family that was never ending. He was a boisterous and loving man, with a wonderful wit, and contagious smile. His smile and laughter will live on in our hearts. Anyone who knew Ned knew of the timeless and unconditional love that he expressed often, for his daughter. She was the love of his life and this love over flowed to his grandchildren, Patrick and Kristen. Ned's sister-in law, Joyce, along with her family invite you to share in this Celebration of Life at the Watson United Pentecostal Church, 34639 Highway 16 on Friday, Dec. 16, from 9 a.m. until religious service, conducted by Brother Johnny Netterville at 10:30 a.m. An interment of ashes will follow in the family plots at the Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery. The family requests any donations be sent to Joyce Goff, P.O. Box 1265, Walker, LA 70785. Donations will be used to help with cost of a headstone.
