Josephine Ernestine Duecker Alberthal took her last breath on August 25,2022 and was reunited with her loving husband Erwin Alberthal in a joyous reunion! She was born July 13,1924 in Blanco County to Walter and Katie Jacoby Duecker.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Erwin Adolph Alberthal, son Charles Alberthal, daughter in law Tammy Vance Alberthal, parents, sisters Winona Davis, Elizabeth Sublett brothers Marcus and R.H. Duecker and brother-in-laws JE Sublett, Richard Davis and Alton Bruns.
She is survived by her children David and Diane Alberthal of Boerne, Mark Alberthal of Boerne, daughter in law Kathie Alberthal of Colorado Springs, CO, 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren. Also survived by her sister Florine Bruns of Fredericksburg and sister in law Ruby Duecker of Houston.
Josie met Erwin at the Reingold School in May 1942 and he swept her off her feet! She then went to work in Waco when she was 18 and Erwin joined the Army in January 1943. They were engaged in October 1943 then Erwin went to France with the Army as a translator and Josie went to work for Consolidated Aircraft in Ft Worth as a 'Rosie the Riveter'. They both returned home in 1946 and were married February 10, 1946 a week after they both returned home.
Josie worked for many years at Market Produce Turkey Plant and also the elementary school in the cafeteria.
Viewing will be from 4pm to 6pm on Thursday, September 8 at Schaetter Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 9 at 10am at Schaetter Funeral Home with internment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
