Mary B. Gracey
Roscoe - Mary B. Gracey passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2008, at Stonecrest Senior Care in Sweetwater. She was born December 2, 1909 in Oglesby, Tx. to Ramsey Hamilton Alexander and Millie Duncan Alexander.
Mary had attended the McGregor Public Schools and graduated from Baylor University in 1930. She had taught school before becoming married. She married R. E. Gracey on May 4, 1934 in Abilene, TX. She had lived in Roscoe since 1934. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Roscoe, and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She taught Sunday School for 8 years and was a girl scout leader. She was a member of the Roscoe Garden Club and was a National Flower Show Judge.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, five sisters, her husband, one daughter, Gwen Killian Terry; one step daughter, Jane Horn.
She is survived by daughters Letha Boston & husband Jim or Roscoe, TX, Rebecca Gracey of Albuquerque, NM; step-daughters Sid Weaver of Sweetwater, TX. and Tiny Hinrich of Houston, TX.; grandchildren Kelly Boston Martin of Stamford, TX., Josh Boston of Roscoe, TX., and Kirk Killian of Dallas, TX.; great-grandchildren James Martin, Annie Martin, & Kendall Killian; sister-in-law Vela Alexander Evans; 6 nieces.
Pallbearers are Josh Boston, James Martin, Daylon Althof, Larry Williams, Kirk Killian, and Vershel Smith.
Funeral services are Friday, February 1, 2008, at 10 a.m. at McCoy Chapel of Memories in Sweetwater with the Rev. Norman Patton officiating. Burial will follow in Roscoe Cemetery, under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater, TX.
