James William Dickson was born in Park Co, Indiana, Sep, 12, 1848. In 1872 he was united in marriage to Miss Amanda Forbes. To this union one child was born, a son, James Arthur Dickson.

In early manhood he became a member of the Presbyterian Church. From Indiana he came west to Kansas; from Kansas to Wyoming and from Wyoming to Washington. He made the trip west from Kansas in a prairie schooner. He resided in this state from the time of his arrival in 1899, until the date of his death, Feb. 5. 1923.

Funeral was held from the house with services at the cemetery. Cause of death was due to Bright's disease.

He leaves one son, James A. Dickson of Chelan, Wa. One sister, Mrs. Anna Anderson, of Stehekin, Wa., two brothers, Andrew G. Dickson, of Yakima, Wa., and Hervey Dickson, of Ohio, and two grandsons, Bert Lee Dickson and Edwin James Dickson, of Chelan.

He also had a niece, Alma Teresa Anderson Blankenship.
