"Siamese" twin baby girls, born at Providence hospital to Mrs. Edward Bates, 19, of Irondale, subsequently died, it was learned at the hospital Wednesday.
The twins were joined by a piece of flesh just below the thorax. They were delivered by a Caesarian operation.
Mrs. Bates is rapidly recovering Wednesday.
Birth of the joined twins is the first of record in Seattle, and one of only about a score in the United States.
