Mrs. Berger was born June 13, 1912, in Clay County, the daughter of Daniel and Maggie (Rinehart) Negley. She married Orlando Adams in 1933. He preceded her in death in July 1945.
After many years of living alone, she married Charlie Berger in 1982. They were able to spend quality time together in Florida before he preceded her in death in 1985. After Charlie's death, she continued to travel with group tours for many years.
She spent many years rearing her family and working on the farm where she was born. In later years, she moved to Olney and worked as a caregiver as an aide at the hospital and later in private care for many individuals in the area.
She was an avid quilter. She spent many hours quilting with the ladies at First United Methodist Church in Olney. She also spent many hours helping to make lap robes for needy children and adults. Each of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren has many beautiful quilts that were handmade for them by her. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Olney.
Mrs. Berger is survived by her sons, J.D., Everett, and Neil Adams ; stepsons, Kenny Berger, Earl Berger, Carl Berger, and Willis Berger; sister-in-law, Bernice Negley; seven grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; daughter-in-law, Patricia Adams; sister, Minnie Seessengood; brothers, Robert Negley and Walter Negley; and stepson, Loren Berger.
Funeral services were held at the Summers-Kistler funeral home with Pastor Jim Thomas officiating.
Burial was in Wesley Cemetery in rural Noble
