SOUTH BEND - Genevieve H. Waldron, 77, of South Bend, passed away after an extended illness at 6:15 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center, South Bend.
Mrs. Waldron was born on February 21, 1930, in Monroe, MI, and had resided in the Michiana area since 1972, coming from Monroe, Michigan. On October 3, 1953, in Monroe, Michigan, as Genevieve H. Bechberger, she married Bernard C. Hammer, who preceded her in death. On November 3, 1972, in Bryan, Ohio, she married Brian M. Waldron, who survives. Her parents, Jerome and Georgietta (DeLye) Bechberger, were well-known in the Monroe, Michigan, area.
She is survived by her loving husband, Brian M. Waldron; a daughter, Patricia A. Hammer of New Carlisle, Indiana; three sons, Steve C. (Michelle) Hammer of Mishawaka, IN, Gregory B. (Ann) Hammer of Maumee, Ohio, and Ronald J. Hammer of St. Croix, Virgin Islands. Also surviving are four wonderful grandchildren whom she loved and cherished, Michael Hammer and Kathryn Hammer, both of Maumee, Ohio, and Christopher and Aaron Hammer, both of Mishawaka, IN. Genevieve was a wonderful loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved sewing, needle point, and most of all cooking.
