On Wednesday, the 5th of the current, at seven o'clock at night, after a long illness during childbirth, Dona Josefa Amesquita db Basquez, wife of Don José Antonio Basquez. This Lady was the mother of twenty-one children, of whom six men and six women live, and some of these are married and are now parents. The late was a good mother, a good wife, and a very esteemed lady, as were her afflicted husband and children, whom we sincerely accompany in her just sentiment.
Her mother, Maria del Carmen Josefa de Castro
21 April 1792 at Mission Carmel – 18 February 1829 in San Luis Obispo, but no official record shows she died in this County, she remarried to Jose Guadalupe Cantu Perez at Presidio Chapel on 9 November 1822
