Anecdotally, a few years after being widowed in 1874, Guadalupe Leitner engaged in a common-law arrangement with Louis Morillo (a neighbor at that time) and produced at least two offspring in that relationship. The two daughters carried the Vasquez surname (Guadalupe's maiden name), not the Morillo name or the Leitner name. Guadalupe was never formally married to Louis Morillo, and there are no records of her ever using that name. Her gravestone inscription is correct: Guadalupe Leitner (not Morillo), and her findagrave record should reflect that fact.
