Mrs. Flack was a welcome wagon hostess in Ithaca for 30 years.
She was born April 9, 1891 in Doylestown, Pa., daughter of the Rev. Charles B. Alspach and Lizzie S. Varwig Alspach, and grew up in Philadelphia, Pa. She received an A.B. degree from Cornell University in 1916 and A.M. degree a year later.
After a year as a private secretary, she went to work at Cornell University. After the death in 1933 of her husband, Harold Flack, she worked for a time for the Ithaca Journal prior to becoming a Welcome Wagon hostess. She was a former member of the PEO, the Ithaca Woman's Club, and First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a son, Robert H. Flack of Silver Spring, Md.; a daughter, Mrs. Willard T. Elvins of Laguna Beach; four grandchildren, a sister and two brothers. There will be memorial service at 3 p.m. Sunday in First Presbyterian Church, Ithaca.
