Obituary from eckersellfuneralhome.com:
Trudy Hawkins Fullmer was born November 7, 1949 in Monticello Utah, the 3rd child born to Ormas and June Hawkins. She grew up in Monticello with her siblings, Don, Pat, Kathy, BJ, Colleen, Carol, and Richard.
While attending Utah State University in Logan, Utah, she met her sweetheart, Evan Fullmer, and after a short courtship, they were sealed in the Idaho Falls, Idaho temple. They found joy raising their 11 children in Arimo, Idaho, serving a mission in Indiana, and serving a church history mission in Utah.
Trudy had a humble and strong testimony for her Savior. Her favorite hymn, I Know That My Redeemer Lives, expressed her gratitude for and trust in Him. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving throughout her life in Primary, Young Women's, and Relief Society, often underestimating her abilities but always leaving others knowing they were loved by her and their Heavenly Father. Mom and Dad served as missionaries in the Louisville, Kentucky mission, loving the people of Indiana, and were currently serving as service missionaries as directors of the Riverton Records Center in Utah where she loved linking ancestors together through Family Search. We rejoice in the knowledge Mom had that we will all be together as a family after this life.
Trudy was witty and fun, enjoyed movie lines and funny quotes, and having inside jokes with her children, their spouses and her grandchildren. She loved adventure and to "go" and was always up for a trip with her family, whether simply going to the grocery store, to help with the birth of grandbabies, or taking multi-state temple trips with her sisters. Her latest adventure was with Evan on a three-week trip through Israel and Jordan to walk where the Savior walked.
She was an incredible mom for us in all stages of our youth and adult lives with an exceptional talent for loving us as teenagers. She never complained (to us) about our teen dramas, but instead, supported us in our various activities, took in and loved our friends, and checked us out of school when she could tell we were having a rough day or when she simply wanted to hang out with us. She often commented how much she loved her teenagers, which love expanded to the community when she started working as the "lunch lady" who knew the names of nearly every student and running the Book Mobile to combine her love of students and books.
This love of books and children easily carried to her 37 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, who knew every year that they would get a carefully selected book for Christmas, lovingly signed by G&G. These books from Grandma and Grandpa have been treasured for decades. As kids grew older and choosing the right book became more difficult she mastered the art of money origami and gave them the book money in the carefully folded form of animals, clothes, instruments, vehicles, and hearts. She adored her grandkids, often attending activities, texting with them, and never missing a birthday, which was celebrated with a lovingly written card and the infamous $2 bill.
Having such a large posterity meant an array of personalities and beliefs; she loved each of us individually and unconditionally. She always knew what was happening in her children's lives and would offer a listening ear, advice, and unwavering support. She supported our dreams and decisions and was selfless even when she was suffering.
We will miss her wit, her humor, her phone calls and texts, her care and concern, and her "wrap you up in all her love" hugs, often accompanied by whispered adoration for us. We love you Mom! Thanks for being such a light in our lives!
Preceded in death by: Ormas and June Hawkins (parents), Don Hawkins (brother), BJ Eckhardt (sister), and Caleb Fullmer (grandson).
She is survived by her spouse, Evan Fullmer; her children; Kimberly and LeRoy Edwards, Joseph and Lucia Fullmer, Josh and Trachelle Fullmer, Kara and James Hill, Cami and Ben Elison, Kellie and Shawn Boyd, James Fullmer, Jake and Jessica Fullmer, Kate and Mike Harrison, John and Autumn Fullmer, and Jared Fullmer and Kathryn Smith, her grandchildren; her great-grandchildren; her siblings: Pat Cox, Kathy Hawkins, Colleen Hawkins, Carol Hawkins, Richard Hawkins.
