Barbara Jean Erickson was a kind & loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister and friend. She left this world on Sunday evening, August 7th at the age of 89 at SSM Health in Monroe, WI.

Barbara was born to Lamont and Luella Paulson on April 8th, 1933. Mom was a farm girl from the start; milking cows and doing farm chores from a very young age and was the 7th of 14 children. She attended Blanchardville High School and fell in love with an Argyle boy, Eldridge Erickson. They met on a Saturday evening on Main Street in Blanchardville. 1951 was a big year for Mom and Dad as Mom graduated from high school, they exchanged wedding vows at the Argyle Lutheran Parsonage on April 4th and later that year, had their first of seven children. Mom and Dad worked on halves for a number of landowners in Green County and southern Dane County in the 1950's and early 60's and then in 1964 they bought their farm, next to the farm where Eldridge grew up, on County A in Argyle, WI. Barb still officially resided there. Mom and Dad were arm and arm partners on the farm. From milking, to harvesting crops to fixing machinery…they did it all together, each and every day. They were dairy farmers, farrowed a hand full of sows each year, raised feeder pigs and used the corn, hay and oats they grew to feed the animals that made the farm prosper. Barb enjoyed being a Dougherty Creek 4-H leader and a member of the Adams Homemakers. She also enjoyed taking classes; learning how to decorate cakes, make & paint ceramics or make woodworking projects. She really wasn't afraid to try anything. Both Mom and Dad almost always had an off-farm job too. Mom worked at The Norseman, Argyle Industries, cleaned homes or at Swiss Colony over the years. She made lasting friendships wherever she was. In 1994 Mom and Dad sold the cows and began to rent out the farmland. Dad passed on July 27th 1999, and since then, Mom lived quite independently, especially enjoying grandkids and great grandkids sporting events. Mom was an active & faithful member of nearby Adams Lutheran Church. She especially enjoyed church events, helping with funeral lunches and her most favorite, the beloved quilting group. Mom's neighbors were important to her and were some of her closest friends. Our favorite memories at the farm include monthly birthday parties, holidays and the annual 4th of July picnic.

Mom and Dad's children include Peggy (Bob) Kapke, Blanchardville, Glenda (Ron) Camron, Monroe, Gloria (Louis) Scherer, Monroe, Beverly (Bob) Wartenweiler, Monroe, Harlan Erickson, Argyle, Helen (David) Rabe, Brodhead and Lynette (Gary Duncan) Dornink, Lancaster.
