Thomas Schaeppi, 95, of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at Dow Rummel Village.

Memorial Service will be 10:30 am Monday, August 8, at Crawford Osthus Funeral Chapel, 1311 4th St. NE., Watertown, SD with burial by his wife, Dorothy, at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Watertown, SD. For online guest book and guest register go to the website at www.crawfordosthus.com.

Thomas Wesley Schaeppi, son of Carl and Harlene Burton, was born on May 24, 1927, in St. Paul, MN. The family moved to Watertown, SD, where Tom graduated from Watertown High School in 1945. Tom enlisted with the United States Navy until being honorably discharged.

Thomas was united in marriage with Dorothy Schull on September 9, 1951, in Watertown, SD. The couple built a home in Sioux Falls and raised four children. Tom attended the University of South Dakota and received his Master's Degree. He began his career at Avera McKennan Hospital working as a Lab Supervisor and retired as an administrative assistant after over 36 years of service.

Dorothy passed away on October 4, 2016.

Tom and Dorothy were active members of First United Methodist Church. Tom was an avid golfer and pool player. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and loved fishing. He cherished time spent at their lake cabin at Lake Kampeska with family.

Grateful for having shared his life are his sons, Gregory Schaeppi and his wife Laura, Tucson, AZ, Bradley Schaeppi, Brandon, SD, Vance Schaeppi, Sioux Falls, SD, Kurt Schaeppi and his wife Christi, Sioux Falls, SD; four grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren;and many other relatives and friends.

Tom was preceded in death by his beloved wife Dorothy, a brother Charles, and sister Arlene Krulish; a nephew, Steve Asmussen; and a daughter-in-law, Wanda Schaeppi.
