LATTIMORE Martha Evelyn Gold Blanton, 79, of 3847 Artee Road, died Nov. 5,
2003, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center, Shelby.
She was a native of Cleveland County, daughter of the late Ralph Royster and
Alma Branton Gold.
FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Saturday, Lattimore Baptist Church; body will be placed in
church 30 minutes before service
INTERMENT: Church cemetery
VISITATION: 6:30-8:30 tonight, Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home; other times at the
home
She was a graduate of Shelby School of Nursing, formerly a Registered Nurse at
Shelby Hospital, retired as Attendance Counselor and Social Worker with
Cleveland County School System, member of Victory Baptist Church and Lattimore
Baptist Church, sung in the choir, and taught Vacation Bible School and the
Fidelis Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Lattimore Women's
Club. Her life was characterized by her unconditional love for The Lord, her
family, and for others.
SURVIVORS: Husband of 58 years, Harrill L. "Bus" Blanton of the home; 4 sons,
Harrill L. Blanton Jr. and wife Tena of Boiling Springs, John G. Blanton and
wife Brenda of Charlotte, Michael Blanton and wife Leanne of Ft. Mill, SC, and
Robert S. "Bobby" Blanton and wife Jodi of Kings Mountain; 1 daughter, Martha B.
Caudill and husband Stuart of Gastonia; 2 brothers, Donald R. Gold and wife Viva
C. and Hugh W. Gold and wife Beth, both of Shelby; 5 grandchildren, Josh, Caleb
and Hunter Blanton, Jonathan Caudill and wife Susan, and Sara Hall
