Alma was born in Canton, IL, April 27, 1954 the daughter of C.E. and Betty (Cowden) Malone. She married John Johnson in Canton, IL, October 26, 1974 and he survives.
She is also survived by her two sons; Jeremy (Alexis) Johnson of Chatham, IL and Jason (Valerie) Johnson of Charlotte, N.C. six grandchildren, her siblings: Rev. Layton (Dee) Malone of Ladoga, IN, Rev. Linda Marie Malone Vaughn of Canton, OH, Phyllis (Joe) O'Brien of Springfield, IL, Gloria (Keith) Shaw of Dubuque, IA, C.J. (Donise) Malone of Pineville, AR, Connie Wood of Springfield, IL and Wesley (Cindy) Malone of Rolla, MO. Her parents and a brother, Stevie Malone preceded her in death.
Alma was a registered nurse serving in the ICU at St. John's Hospital in Springfield. After her retirement from St. John's Hospital, she served as a nurse at the St. Francis Convent in Springfield. She was an active member of Springfield First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
Arrangements are in the care of Bisch and Son Funeral Home 505 E. Allen St. Springfield, IL where private services will be held for the family. Cremation Rites will be accorded with a celebration of life to be held at a later date.
